Adjustment on the Maximum Validity Period of e-Cert (Organisational Role), Bank-Cert and g-Cert

For enhancing security and reliability of e-Cert, starting from 1 November 2026, Hongkong Post Certification Authority (HKPCA) will adjust the maximum validity period of e-Cert from 2 years to 1 year. This applies to e-Cert (Organisational Role), Bank-Cert and g-Cert. Details are as follows:

Type of e-Cert	Existing Validity Period	New Validity Period (For new/renewal applications processed on or after 1 November 2026)
e-Cert (Organisational Role) Bank-Cert (Personal) / (Corporate) / (Bank) g-Cert (Individual) / (Functional Unit)	A maximum of two years	One year

The maximum validity period of other e-Cert types is already one year.
